insulin pump shipment

My new One Touch Ping insulin pump arrived today, which is definitely a little bit exciting. I’m only allowed a new pump every 4 years, so getting a big upgrade happens even less often than I would buy a new computer. Most people buy cars more often than I replace the thing that keeps me alive. This stack of boxes includes the new pump, blood glucose monitor, and 3 months worth of supplies – total cost billed to my insurance was ,875.00, of which my insurance paid ,605.99.

When I got my new Minimed pump last June my insurance was billed $6,803. That included 3 months worth of supplies – 4 boxes each of infusion sets & reservoirs plus a box of IV Prep wipes. My insurance paid them $5,181.95. That didn’t include the CGMS component which was billed separately.
Just added the final cost from Animas — $4,875.00. Sounds like Animas is $2,000.00 less expensive than the Minimed!!!
